This coin flip tool tosses a virtual coin in your browser and shows heads or tails. Flip one coin to settle a choice, or flip up to 1,000 at once and read how many came up heads and how many tails. Nothing is sent to a server, and it spends no credits.
How to flip a coin online
Leave the number of coins at one and flip. The result is heads or tails, each with a 1 in 2 chance. Flip again for a fresh toss: every coin is independent of the one before.
Is an online coin flip fair?
Each coin is decided by crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s cryptographically secure random generator, so neither side is favored. A real coin can be nudged by how it is tossed and caught; a virtual coin flip has no thumb and no table edge, and nobody can see the result before it appears.
What happens when you flip many coins?
Set the count, up to 1,000, and every coin is tossed on its own. With 20 coins the average outcome is 10 heads, but runs of 12 or 8 are normal. The odds of 10 heads in a row from a single coin are 1 in 1,024. That kind of streak feels suspicious and still happens, and flipping many coins at once is a quick way to see it for yourself. Teachers use it to show probability in class; the counts make the point without anyone tallying by hand.
When people flip a coin
- Settling a two-way choice: who goes first, which restaurant, which of two options.
- Kicking off a game or picking sides.
- Breaking a tie that nobody wants to argue about.
- Showing how probability behaves in a classroom.
A coin flip doesn’t make a decision wiser. It makes it quicker, and some people notice which side they were hoping for while the coin is in the air.
FAQ
Does the previous flip change the next one?
No. Each toss is independent, so after five heads the next coin is still 1 in 2 heads.
Can I flip more than one coin?
Yes, up to 1,000 per flip, with each result and the totals of heads and tails.
What does it cost?
It comes with the Nexin library: Nexin Lite or Nexin Pro opens it, and it spends no credits.
Need more than two outcomes? The Dice Roller rolls up to 100 dice with 4 to 100 sides.
