A marketing plan template tells you which sections to fill in; this skill for Claude fills them in with a plan built from your own business. Tell it what you sell, who buys it, how much you can spend, who will do the work and where your numbers stand today, and it writes a 90-day marketing plan with goals, channels, a weekly calendar, a budget split and the metrics to track.
What goes in a marketing plan?
Any marketing plan template asks the same questions: where are we now, where do we want to be, who are we talking to, what do we say, where do we reach them, what does it cost and how will we know it works. The skill writes one section for each: situation, goals, audience, positioning, channels, calendar, budget, metrics and risks.
Goals come from your numbers, not from a wish. If you have 2,000 visitors a month and a 2% conversion rate, the plan shows what has to change to reach your target, and whether the target is realistic with the budget you have.
Why 90 days?
A year is too long to plan in detail for a small team, and a month is too short to see results. Ninety days is long enough to test a few channels and short enough to change course. The calendar runs 13 weeks, each with what ships and who owns it.
Channels chosen for a reason
A blank marketing plan template invites you to list every channel at once. This skill picks two to four and explains each choice against your buyer, your budget and your team’s hours. A solo founder gets a different plan from a team of five with an ad budget.
Honest about what it doesn’t know
A plan full of industry averages and market sizes looks complete and misleads you. The skill never invents a benchmark, a conversion rate, a cost per click or a market size. When the plan needs a figure you didn’t give, it writes it as an assumption, marks it clearly and tells you how to check it in your first weeks.
FAQ
Can I use it for a new business with no numbers yet?
Yes. The plan then starts with a measurement phase: the first weeks set up tracking and collect the baseline, and the goals are written as assumptions to replace with real numbers.
What format is the plan in?
Markdown with headings and tables, which pastes into Notion, Google Docs, Word or a slide outline.
Does it work for services as well as products?
Yes. It works for products, software, services, local businesses, creators and nonprofits.
