Unix Timestamp Converter is a unix timestamp converter that turns epoch time into a readable date, and a date back into epoch time, right in your browser. Type a number like 1760000000 or a date like 2026-10-20 14:30 and every format appears as you type. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored, and it spends no credits.
What is a Unix timestamp?
A Unix timestamp, also called epoch time, counts the seconds since midnight UTC on January 1, 1970. Databases, logs, APIs and JWTs store time this way because it is one number with no time zone attached. It is easy for software and unreadable for people, which is why an epoch converter is one of the most used developer tools.
How do I convert a timestamp to a date?
Paste the number. The result lists the same moment five ways: Unix seconds, Unix milliseconds, ISO 8601 in UTC, the UTC date written out, and the date in your own time zone, taken from your device. Press Now to fill in the current timestamp.
Seconds or milliseconds?
Unix time is in seconds, but JavaScript, Java and many APIs use milliseconds. A current timestamp in seconds has 10 digits; in milliseconds it has 13. The converter reads a 13-digit number as milliseconds and a 10-digit one as seconds, and shows both in the result, so you never have to divide by 1,000 by hand. Decimals and negative numbers, for dates before 1970, work too.
How do I convert a date to epoch time?
Type the date instead of a number. A date with no time zone, like 2026-10-20 14:30, is read in your local time. Add Z for UTC (2026-10-20T14:30:00Z) or an offset like +02:00 when the time comes from somewhere else. The result gives the timestamp in seconds and milliseconds.
What is the year 2038 problem?
Systems that store Unix time as a signed 32-bit integer run out of room at 03:14:07 UTC on January 19, 2038, when the count passes 2,147,483,647. Paste that number to see the moment. Modern systems use 64-bit values, which the converter handles without trouble.
Reading an exp claim inside a token? The JWT Decoder shows a token’s times as dates for you.
FAQ
Is UTC the same as my local time?
Only if your device is set to UTC. The result shows both, so you can compare them.
Does anything leave my browser?
No. The conversion runs entirely on your device and nothing is stored.
What does it cost?
It comes with the Nexin library: Nexin Lite or Nexin Pro opens it, and it spends no credits.
